Estate Planning

It's never too soon to start a comprehensive estate plan:

The first of the post-baby boomer generation turned 30 last year.  At the same time, the first of the 75 million baby boomers became age 65.   Our life spans will be longer than anyone ever imagined and our needs can be more complicated and evolve over time.   We need to protect our assets (no matter what size) and make sure our wishes are kept, regardless of our age.  At Street Law, we are in the relationship business, we strive to create a lasting relationship with our clients by understanding their needs and requirements.  We use a client-centered approach, not a typical lawyer-centered approach.   We offer a free consultation so you can get to know us first.

It's never too early to conduct an estate plan:  From single people, to young families, to people in the prime of their lives with mixed families, we all have one thing in common:  we sleep better if we have a plan.
We follow Federal and State legislative activities as it relates to you, as well as participating in Continuing Legal Education on Estate Law -- we keep you informed of any changes that will affect your plans.
There are a myriad of advanced planning strategies available, even for people who consider themselves "middle-class".  Are you fully utilizing these strategies?   Is your home titled properly?  Are your IRA's and 401k's titled properly?
Did you know that a divorce may not automatically remove your former spouse from inheriting?   In a recent case, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Donna Egelhoff, the former spouse of David Egelhoff, was the sole beneficiary of David's pension and life insurance policies.  She was entitled to the policies, even over David's children.  This happened even though they were already divorced and he died in a tragic car accident just a few days after the divorce.

LESSON:  PROTECT YOUR ASSETS.  THINK ABOUT EVEN THE MOST REMOTE POSSIBILITIES.
